First Annual Jazz4Justice @ UVA
The First Annual Jazz4Justice at UVA will take place on Sunday, April 15th, 2018 at 3:30 PM at UVA’s Old Cabell Hall and will benefit the Legal Aid Justice Center, Central Virginia Legal Aid Society, and the McIntire Department of Music Jazz program.
The UVA Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of John D’earth, is partnering with Jazz4Justice, to bring the First Annual Jazz4Justice Concert to UVA. Jazz4Justice, founded by former Virginia State Bar President Ed Weiner, collaborates with university music programs and the local legal community to raise funds for Legal Aid and music scholarships. Since 2000, more than 40 annual Jazz4Justice concerts have been held on 9 Virginia college campuses and have raised more than $350,000. (www.jazz4justice.com)
The April 15 Jazz4Justice Concert at UVA, “A Vocal Jazz Extravaganza”, will benefit the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society, the Legal Aid Justice Center, and the UVA Jazz Program. Vocal jazz headliner, Stephanie Nakasian, will be featured.
In addition to fabulous music, Jazz4Justice will include a post-concert jam session. Concert goers are encouraged to bring their instruments to join the “pros”.
