VCU Music and the Greater Richmond Bar Foundation presented their fourth annual Jazz 4 Justice benefit concert to support local access to justice efforts and the development of future jazz artists. Proceeds from the event directly supported pro bono legal representation to low income individuals & families, veterans & nonprofits in central Virginia, as well as scholarships for students in the VCU Jazz Studies Program. Special Guest Conductor Michael N. Herring, Richmond Commonwealth’s Attorney, stole the show with his cool sunglasses and on-stage antics. The concert featured students and faculty from the VCU Jazz Studies program as well as guest artists, and was directed by Antonio García. A cocktail hour preceded the concert from 7 – 8 p.m. and a jam session followed the concert, bringing out the entire community!
